Sarah Josey is the Founder & Owner of Golden Poppy Herbal Apothecary & Clinic.
Sarah Josey is a clinical herbalist, nutritionist, teacher, and medicine maker whose work is rooted in reverence for nature’s rhythms and the innate wisdom of the human body.
Her path began in the world of science—studying biochemistry at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. But midway through her studies, Sarah felt a deeper calling: to seek a healing path that honored both the tangible and the sacred, one that worked in harmony with nature rather than in resistance to it.
This led her to the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism (now the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism) in Boulder, where she trained in Vitalist herbalism and clinical nutrition, ultimately earning certifications as a Clinical Herbalist and Clinical Nutritionist.
While immersed in her studies, Sarah also worked at Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, gaining hands-on experience in supporting clients and operating a wellness-based retail space. These early years shaped her vision of what would become Golden Poppy Herbal Apothecary & Clinic—a place where education, community, and herbal wisdom could come together to support people on their healing journeys.
Sarah’s clinical approach blends the deep roots of traditional herbalism with modern scientific insight. She draws from time-honored practices as well as the latest research in nutrition and physiology, crafting individualized protocols that reflect the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
Her specialties include:
🌿 Hormone balancing
🌿 Digestive wellness
🌿 Nutrition for specialized dietary needs
🌿 Supporting overall vitality and resilience
She is deeply passionate about food as medicine, sacred cycles, and the reweaving of herbal medicine into everyday life. She holds advanced training as a Hormone Cure Practitioner, Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, and is a graduate of the Herbal Medicine for Women course. Sarah is also honored to serve as a Mother Roaster, Sacred Fertility Counselor, Sacred Birth Journey Instructor, and Red Drum Carrier—offering support and ceremony for life’s most tender thresholds.
